CHRISTMAS CARD

The stores are closed and shuttered.
No, nobody dropped a bomb.
The shoppers and the merchants moved
to I.O.U. dot com.

No crowds to fight your way through,
No long quest to park your car.
Just get on world wide web and stores
will come to where you are.

No need to slog through snow and sleet,
or slush through ice or mess.
Just point and click, and shop, and sit,
and wait for UPS.

Your kids can click on North Pole.Com
Climb on Santa's virtual lap,
and choose from piles of virtual toys
the ones they would unwrap.

We'll gather 'round and decorate
the interactive tree,
attend a service at church.org
at 8 P.M. or 3

A.M.--whatever time we choose.
Our world will come to us.
We'll meet the family online,
no need to clean or fuss.

A Merry Interactive Christmas!
Good will and peace to men!

At this rate, we may never have
to leave our homes again!

Best wishes to all my readers for a warm and wonderful Christmas, and for happy surprises in the new year.

Marylaine

NOTE: My thinking is always a work in progress. You could mentally insert all my columns in between these two sentences: "This is something I've been thinking about," and "Does this make any sense to you?" I welcome your thoughts. Please send your comments about these columns to: marylaine at netexpress.net. Since I've written a lot of these, some of them many years ago, help me out by telling me which column you're referring to.

I'll write columns here whenever I really want to share an idea with you and can find time to write them . If you want to be notified when a new one is up, send me an e-mail and include "My Word's Worth" in the subject line.
