Brian, about 8 years old, learning piano from his mother's father, Scott Bagby, at his home in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Scott, a city planner, wrote songs and musical comedies in his spare time and dreamed of getting them published and performed some day. Brian got composing genes from both sides of his family. |

| Brian and Cindy were married on May 25, 2002, on a pier on the Charles River near the Esplanade in Boston, where the rock band that brought them together, They Might Be Giants, was scheduled to play a concert. After the wedding, they went to Scotland for a blessing ceremony, which was performed at Dun's Castle near Berwick upon Tweed. Cindy was in her wedding dress and Brian in a formal kilt for the occasion. A piper played as Cindy came into the castle salon on her father's arm. After the ceremony, we took lots of pictures. Here we are in front of the castle, Brian and Cindy at the sundial. Looking on are her mother and father, Charles and Ilene Miller, the piper, and me.
